Dame Helen Mirren will next month be presented with a fellowship by BAFTA, the organisation's highest honour.
The Oscar and BAFTA-winning actress will receive the British Academy fellowship in recognition of her "exceptional contribution" to film, BAFTA said.
The presentation at the BAFTAs on February 16 will see Mirren join a star-studded list of BAFTA fellows including Charlie Chaplin, Alfred Hitchcock, Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Elizabeth Taylor, Judi Dench and Sean Connery.
Mirren said: "This is the greatest professional honor I can imagine, certainly one I never dreamt of as a schoolgirl in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex. To join that list of legendary names is overwhelming."
Mirren has as a long association with BAFTA, receiving four awards including one for The Queen.
